1999 Highlights From Scorecards

Below are excerpts from the scorecard highlights, along with a full recreation of Brad and Art's classic (?) match.

From Juday/Williams vs. Shoop/Marcenkowski:

"Cow, a 17, goes out 4,3,4.  From back of #7 green Cow putted off the front to a 30 yd. pitch."

From Seelig/George vs. DeAngelis/AC Shoop

"4th hole - Lou hits from under tree to 5 ft.  7th hole - Ron makes par after left-handed shot.  15th hole - Seelig makes big putt for par.  16th hole - Lou makes birdie on 16 and big putt on 17 to extend match."

From "Grandpa" match:

"Ron Sr. makes 25-footer for birdie on #!5"

From Hackett/Walters vs. Smith/Boudreau:

"Hackett and Walters LPGA'd it around for the win.  They won #5 with a 6 and never looked back.  Lou Boudreau hit a great wedge to 2 feet form the trees on #12 to save a 9.  Ed Smith had to climb a ladder to get his putter from the pine tree behind #7 after he missed a three footer."

From Smith/George vs. Marcenkowski/Bres:

"9th Hole - Smith George 3-putt (8) beats four-putt (9) to win hole."

From Shoop vs. Shoop:

"Charlie builds a 4-hole lead and hangs on easily as Steve "TC Chens" on the 17th hole."

From Bres/Smith vs. Shoop/Lamarra:

"Art birdies #5, plays consistent par golf (except at #12, where he took seven shots to get to the white tees)."

From Smith/Walters vs. Lamarra/F George:

"8th Hole - Frank plays combat golf, over green, under green, oer green, then cans 12 foot downhill putt for 5 net 4.  12th hole - Wally rides Smitty's big shoulders as he makes 6 for 4."

From Lamarra vs. Lamarra:

"Mike wins with 6-foot put on 15."

From Grace vs. Ligon:

"[Jamie says] I suck! and Bob is great."

From Shoop/Smith vs. Hackett/Shoop:

"Brett whiffs on pitchout at #3/ halved hole.  Red loses ball in tree at #5."

From DH Sr./B Smith vs. Hackett/George Sr.:

"Steady Eddie and BS ham and egg it for big win."
