2003: Blue Wins 10 1/2 to 8 1/2
In a close event, Blue hung on
Sunday to retain the cup. David Best played solidly
against Jon DeAngelis including a birdie at 13, and clinched
Vince Olenik holed
out from 120 yards at the tenth for an eagle two en
route to a foursomes victory. Tom Bres tried to rally his troops with a
brilliant birdie at 17, but was just a bit late.
Except for a frost delay, the weather was outstanding and the course was in excellent
condition. The quality of golf was also high this weekend:
there were no pastings and nobody went 0-3. Tim Seelig
backed up his very low handicap with an outstanding showing on
Saturday.
