6th Hole
This hole derives its name from the much maligned but much beloved Brad Juday, who was an early pioneer in the relationship between our group and this course. Brad was one of the few lucky enough to skip class, crunch the twenty minute twisty terk into a ten minute maniacal sprint, write the check for three dollars, and get around in less than three hours before the sun went down in late October. On one of these treks in 1987, with only Steve Shoop as a witness, Brad hit a seven iron (he was three clubs longer then) into the cup here. Even three is a good score here; the green requires a soft shot. Many shots land short; hit it long and you risk skipping into the creek that sneaks along the back. Most players never seem to choose a club long enough, and many seem to pull the ball into the area left of the green. |
