As the years go by, the tee shot on this hole gets tougher. The trees to the left, just over the creek, should scare the player. But the right side is lined with trees that seem to grab at least one ball per foursome (Art has been known to leave his water bottles in that area, since he goes there each round).

The players have, over time, settled on the strategy of laying the second shot up to hill which rises up approximately 130 yards from the green (only 360 yards from the tee), meaning that unless you make a mistake, the hole is usually re-started as a short par three. But with even a reasonable drive, this hole is reachable in two for a player with the guts to challenge the narrowing woods. A deep valley fronts the hole, and a shot from the valley close to the green requires as much as thirty-foot rise.

The green is an upside-down bowl, and shares with eight and twelve the best chance to roll a ball off the green. For its relatively short length, a surprising number of bogeys win holes here.
